WHAT TO EXPECT

Punta Allen is a small village located within the Sian Ka'an Biosphere. As an ecological retreat we have no generator but the village provides electricity from late morning until about midnight. Refrigeration is available. Drinking ice and cooler ice is available in the village.

There are several small grocery stores where you can shop for food, and a couple good restaurants we can recommend. You can cook in or have your meals catered.

Beer is available in town but if you prefer hard alcohol or wine we suggest you purchase it ahead of time in Cancun, or Tulum.

The closest ATM is in Tulum. No one in Punta Allen accepts credit cards.

As for communications, Punta Allen has no public telephones. Cell phones do not work within the Biosphere. Serenidad Shardon offers internet access for a small fee. VOI or What´s APP work fairly well. Be prepared to get unplugged!

This is a tropical jungle environment. You may encounter some of the creatures that call this home. That said, we do everything in our power to keep this to a minimum. A full time housekeeper and a full time grounds keeper work to keep the jungle at bay and to make your experience at Serenidad Shardon as pleasant as possible. Tipping is customary and if you received good service, please be generous.
